I was trying to bend a warped board (particle type) and of course it split in half. This is the board that goes under the pad in a bassinet. It is $15 to replace, but I’d like to somehow fix this one. Any ideas? It has many pieces of hardware connected that I don’t think I could get off and add to another board. It broke unevenly. I can post a picture, but not sure if that is possible or how to go about that.

The board is 29″ long 14″ wide, it appears to be 2/16ths thick. It is the type of wood that is smooth on one side and honeycombed on the other.
The split was completely through, it lifted up wood in different directions, so it isn’t easy to exactly match it up. I tried taping it, but obviousely it isn’t strong enough to hold stable. There are snaps attached by rivots all the way around and a few other plastic hardware pieces that are needed for the bassinet to work it’s best.
I was trying to bend a warped (bowed like) board (particle type) and of course it split in half. I was just being stupid when I even tried this. I knew it was going to happen. This is the board that goes under the pad in a bassinet. It is $15 to replace, but I’d like to somehow fix this one. Any ideas? It has many pieces of hardware connected that I don’t think I could get off and add to another board. It broke unevenly. This was a secondhand bassinet. It does seem quite thin for it to support a baby, but it does. This piece would be completely covered with the fabric, so it cannot be seen. I could just cut a new piece to shape and not use the hardware, but if I choose to do that, how can I drill out the rivots? I thought maybe I can just screw them back on.
Oh, this particle board piece actually lifts out. It isn’t attached at all to the actually bassinet body. It needs to fully support itself as there isn’t anything except 2 metal bars on either end to hold it in position.
Couldn’t I just make a new board from a different type of thin wood? What wood come in a thin thickness?

I am trying to get things ready for my newborn. I pulled the bassinet that I used for his sister out of storage. The bottom support board had a slight curve to it now. It’s made out of some kind of particle board or press board. I tried applying weight to the curve to straighten it but it didn’t help. And for the smarty pants I left it like that for 24 hours. Should I apply heat or water? it’s a very small curve but makes the bassinet a little wobbly which makes it a little noisy. It’s not a safety issue so I do not need any lectures. Just don’t want any unnecessary noise waking my baby. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
I would have a new one cut but this board has button clips on it that I need to attach to the base of the bassinet. I don’t have the tools to attach the button clips.
